Dor & Tan

Dor & Tan - Espresso Cups - Matte Black

Dor & Tan began with a desire to break away from the disposability of modern life, to create objects with a more personal connection. Founders Sharron, Peter, Matthew, and Viola aim bring handcrafted items to people, that have a unique soft character which cannot be created any other way than by the hand of a maker.

The process of making is slow and thoughtful, taking care to choose the proper way over the easier way. Each object is thrown by hand from clay sourced locally and fired using green energy.

Dor & Tan use green energy at the studio to fire their kilns and power electric wheels. Their clay is wedged by hand to minimise their use of electricity.

*Please note these pieces are made with traditional processes which make every piece unique, no two objects will be identical, sisters not twins. These espresso cups are sold separately & not as a pair.

  • The shape of these cups reflects the curvature of boat hulls, making the form perfect for cupping in your hand. They are also lovely to enjoy with warm Sake, or if you have a little one around, a small yoghurt snack.
  • Each cup is handcrafted and beautifully designed, with each piece having its unique softness and character. Every ounce of clay is sourced locally from Doble's clay pit in St Agnes and formed using a kick wheel.
  • This black glaze was developed with Origin Coffee and has a velvety smooth, matte finish.
  • Designer: Sharron Page Stocks
  • Dimensions: Ø6 H6 CM
  • Capacity:FL OZ 3
  • Material: Stoneware
  • Care: Each vessel is food safe and has been independently tested. Hand washing with care is recommended to maintain the unique quality of each piece.
