Dor & Tan

Dor & Tan - Tumbler - Matte Black

Dor & Tan began with a desire to break away from the disposability of modern life, to create objects with a more personal connection. Founders Sharron, Peter, Matthew, and Viola aim bring handcrafted items to people, that have a unique soft character which cannot be created any other way than by the hand of a maker.

The process of making is slow and thoughtful, taking care to choose the proper way over the easier way. Each object is thrown by hand from clay sourced locally and fired using green energy.

Dor & Tan use green energy at the studio to fire their kilns and power electric wheels. Their clay is wedged by hand to minimise their use of electricity.

*Please note these pieces are made with traditional processes which make every piece unique, no two objects will be identical, sisters not twins.

  • These Matte Black Tumblers are made from local Cornish clay from St Agnes. The capacity was designed for lattes and tall coffees, but a big glass of cool water or homemade zesty lemonade on a summers day would be just as pleasant.

  • This black glaze was developed with Origin Coffee Roasters and has a velvety smooth, matte finish.
  • The shape of these cups reflects the curvature of boat hulls, making the form perfect for cupping in your hand.
  • Designer: Sharron Page Stocks
  • Dimensions: Ø7 H10 CM
  • Capacity: 240 ML
  • Care: Each vessel is food safe and has been independently tested. Hand washing with care is recommended to maintain the unique quality of each piece.
  • Please handle with care when hot liquid is contained within this vessel, as the lower ceramic surrounds may become hot.
  • Handmade in St. Ives, UK
